Draft Agenda – Regular Meeting April 12, 2018

Times and topics of this agenda are subject to change. Draft minutes of the March 8, 2018 NCPCA meeting will be distributed at the meeting and may also be posted at http://www.myncpca.org .

7:30 Call to Order and urgent announcements related to conduct of the meeting; followed by amendments to this draft agenda; followed by a motion and vote to approve the agenda for tonight.

7:35 Clarice Smith Performing Arts Schedule. Mr. Bobby Archer will present highlights of this year’s performance schedule.

7:40 Announcements of Candidates for Elected Officials. Mr. Julian Lopez, who currently running for P.G. County Council at Large, has requested time to address to NCPCA. If other candidates for office within the NCPCA area wish to speak, they will be allowed in conformance with past practice. General announcements of elected officials are scheduled at 8:50 pm

7:50 Update re City Charter Amendment. A proposed City Charter change 18-CR-02 is scheduled for introduction by the City Council on April 10. NCPCA approved a letter regarding future charter amendments on March 8, 2018. A update of the proposed amendment and possible NCPCA resolution will be presented. 8:05 Branchville Fire Station. Update of recent concerns about fire and emergency staffing. Possible resolution and/or letter in New Business.

8:20 Community Center. Report of NCPCA Committee regarding planning for a new community Center in North College Park.

8:30 Break & Refreshments. Members are invited to bring something to share as we pause for a short 10 minute break.

8:40 Nominating Committee. NCPCA elections are in June, and volunteers are needed for a nominating committee to identify willing candidates.

8:45 Officer Reports followed by review and approval of minutes of March 8, 2018 NCPCA meeting.

8:50 General Announcements of Elected Officials, Members and Guests.

9:00 Hollywood Neighborhood Park Update. Latest construction activities to enhance recreational uses in the park will be summarized.

9:05 Rhode Island Avenue Traffic, Travel Lanes & Bike Lanes. We discussed traffic and bike lane planning at recent meetings. Do we want to invite County officials to an upcoming NCPCA meeting to address general concerns about traffic, maybe about new traffic signals or roundabouts? Where do we go from here?

9:15 New Business by motion of members, followed by call for new topics for discussion tonight, or for discussion at our next meeting on May 10, as time allows.

9:30 Motion to continue meeting will be in order, otherwise we adjourn.

Membership in NCPCA is open to all adult residents of North College Park, and only members may vote in decisions of the Association. Please complete the membership form and mail it with your dues payment, or bring dues and payment to a meeting.

NCPCA meets at Davis Hall, 9217 51st Avenue at 7:30 pm on the 2nd Thursday of each month, except July & August meetings are optional. Please send questions about NCPCA to johnkrouse@yahoo.com
