Public Services’ Playground Renovation Presentation

Brenda Alexander, assistant diretor at the Department of Public Works spoke about how ARPA funding has been appropriated for playground renovations. DPW is meeting with Civic Association groups to solicit feedback. In North College Park, the playgrounds targeted for renovation include: Muskogee, Hollywood, Davis, and Mews. These playgrounds have equipment currently at or past their useful lifespan. She introduced Dave Smith from Playground Specialists, who ran the assemblage through the proposed updates and installations and solicited feedback from the community.

David Smith took feedback as it was offered from members of the meeting and incorporated them into notes to be used to update the plans. David Smith said that he would create new options based on this feedback, which he would then send to Brenda Alexander so that they could be distributed and more feedback could be gathered until the community was satisfied. This feedback can include equipment types and color choices. Playground Specialists is currently scheduling out to the Fall, so the sooner a decision is made the better. Interested parties can go to PlayWorld.com in order to see available equipment. NCPCA will help to circulate new plans when they arrive.
