Call to Order
President David Alicea brought the meeting to order and initiated the moment of silence. He then read the orders of the day for the meeting.
Minutes
The meeting minutes from May were put forward for approval by the body. The motion to approve was made and seconded and the motion passed.
President’s Report
President David Alicea provided an update on the coffee socials taking place every Sunday at Proteus Brews. He then recapped the events since the February election aided or put on by the NCPCA. President Alicea also announce a summer hiatus for regular meetings, with the next meeting to take place on September 14, 2023.
Vice President’s
Vice President Brys Broughton asked that members make sure to renew their memberships on the NCPCA web site (myncpca.com/membership-form). He also provided an update on his research into CRM and newsletter solutions to aid in membership management and outreach.
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Melissa Peterson gave an accounting of the financial state of the NCPCA checking and savings account ($2,237.75 and $333.55 respectively). She reminded the body that membership dues would be requested soon and that SECU memberships are available to NCPCA members.
Secretary’s Report
Secretary Brian J. Roan gave updates on changes made to the web site to improve function and accessibility. He also reminded the membership to state their names before speaking to allow for easier recording of minutes and to let members know who had the floor.
Officer Elections
Without any other candidates nominated for any position with the NCPCA Board, officers were elected by acclamation.
- There was a motion and second for President David Alicea to be re-elected by acclamation. The motion passed.
- There was a motion and second for Vice President Brys Broughton to be re-elected by acclamation. The motion passed.
- There was a motion and second for Treasurer Melissa Peterson to be re-elected by acclamation. The motion passed.
- There was a motion and second for Secretary Brian J. Roan to be re-elected by acclamation. The motion passed.
Unscheduled Motions and Announcements
Secretary Roan made an announcement regarding the Hollywood Farmers Market, Saturday mornings from 9AM to 1PM at the Mom’s parking lot, in conjunction with Trolley Trail Day on Saturday June 10.
Alan Hew, in the chat, announced the Route 1 Pollinator Fair at the University of Maryland on June 17 from 1–4PM.

The motion was put forward to bring the meeting to a close. The motion was seconded and passed.
