Clary also noted that WISE Connect activities for seniors are routinely updated at www.wisecities.us.
Shoppers Food Warehouse Vacancy and Potential Replacement Voting
Clary noted that the store closed November 8 because owner UNFI sought to focus its business on distribution rather than retail. The store had ranked high in sales. In a 1-mile radius of Davis Hall, the only grocery stores are Lidl, MOM’s Organic Market, and Mundo Latino Market; so there’s an opportunity for an anchor grocer that is open extended hours.
Kabir noted that the property is owned by NAI Michael Properties. He reported that the City Office of Economic Development is in contact with owner and is connecting with prospective grocers. The County alcohol license may add to the attraction of this location.
Unscheduled Motions
There were no unscheduled motions.

Kabir reported that the new City Council, including 3 new members, was sworn in on December 2. Maria Mackey will be the new Mayor Pro Tem. If you’re traveling this holiday, remember the City’s free premise check service is available.
